Before discussing the price of pellet feed dryers, let’s understand the different types of feed and the appropriate drying temperatures. Pellet feeds on the market come in many varieties, such as chicken feed, bird feed, fish feed, and pet feed pellets, in a wide range of sizes. Typically, perforated stainless steel trays with small holes (3-5mm) are used. For smaller pellets, a fine mesh sieve may be needed. For larger pellets, the sieve can be removed for better ventilation.

The ideal drying temperature for feed pellets is 40-60°C. Drying feed pellets at higher temperatures should be avoided as it will affect their nutritional value. Hot air drying is the most suitable method for feed pellets. Circulating hot air dryers with a temperature range of 35-95°C are most commonly used for this type of feed pellet. For small feed pellets or powders like the ones shown in the image, using a solid tray is also very suitable. Although it makes the product dry slower compared to perforated trays, it is still very effective, allowing the powder to dry quickly. During the drying process, users can turn the product in the tray to speed up drying and allow moisture to escape. Especially if the feed pellets need to be dried at different temperatures and for varying durations, the drying program can be set on the Mactech temperature controller.
